The fallout from our current economic crisis is enormous. Ultimately, all Americans, even those without stock portfolios or investment accounts, will be affected in one way or another.

Yesterdays events involving Lehman and Merrill dramatically affected many workers who have lost their jobs (which, they believed, were secure) and also may have lost much of their life savings in their retirement accounts. I guess "trickle down" really means "watch out below."

Many brokers and financial advisors now have decisions to make about their own futures. Do I stay with an acquirer? Do I move to an independant broker dealer? Did I sign a Non Compete with my former firm and is it still enforceable? What happens if I take my "book" to a new firm? These questions, and many others, confront many after yesterday.
