Kash N’ Gold Ltd., in conjunction with the U.S. Product Safety Commission (CPSC), voluntarily recalled 60,000 Tinker Bell Lamps, because the products contain excessive levels of lead.

Exposure to lead has been shown to cause brain and kidney damage, especially in children.

To date, the company has not received any reports of injury associated with the recall.

The recalled Tinker Bell lamp has model “Tinker Bell Lamp” printed on the bottom of the lamp. The lamps were sold nationwide from January 2007 through October 2007.

CPSC advises consumers to stop using the recalled lamps immediately and to return to the store of purchase for a full refund, or contact Kash N’ Gold directly for a merchandise credit.

Consumer Contact: For additional information, contact Kash N’ Gold at (800) 354-8785 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m Monday through Friday or visit the firm’s Web site at www.kngamerica.com
