A Rehoboth woman, 19, was killed this morning in a car accident when her vehicle crashed with a tractor trailer in Middleboro.

The passenger, 20, of Plymouth, sustained serious injuries and she was taken to Morton Hospital and later transported to Boston Medical Center. Both women were extricated from the vehicle by Middleboro firefighters.

The woman’s 2007 Hyundai collided with the truck at the intersection. Both vehicles came to rest on the south shoulder area. Police are investigating what led up to the collision.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, 32, of Hartford, Connecticut, called 911 after the crash, according to officials. He was transported to Morton Hospital for medical treatment.

The Massachusetts State police Accident Reconstruction Team was called to the scene to assist the investigation. No criminal charges have been filed at this time.
